I finally talked my husband into getting a smile makeover. He’s fifty-one years old. He would say that he wished he’d done it when he was younger, but that it wasn’t worth going through the whole process at this point in his life. His mouth wasn’t terrible looking, but I think it was the first thing someone would notice about him. It was a bit of an issue when he ate certain kinds of foods, too, because his teeth didn’t line up neatly. It seemed to me like a shame that he had to struggle a bit and mangle the pizza on the way down.
Anyway, part of what changed his mind was the quality of comfortable dental care available these days. Today, sedation dentistry is often an alternative to a lengthy and uncomfortable term with braces. For me, it wasn’t just about a cost-benefit analysis of cosmetic dentistry. Getting the corrective operation done represents the principle of not giving up on yourself. I think, no matter how old, you should never resign yourself to being “done,” or to a decline. Striving for self-perfection is what really makes us human, even if it’s a small thing like, having a functional and attractive mouth.

I need to pick up some gifts for a few clients of mine, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that I can get great gift baskets for women? I really like the idea of giving out gift baskets, but all of
the ones that I’ve seen seem to be strictly business gift baskets, and I’d like to go with something a bit more personal.
I’ve used gift baskets in the past for corporate gifts, but I just started my own small business and I want to get something to say thank you to my clients, along with my suppliers and investors, most of whom are women. I was thinking of tea and coffee gift baskets, because practically everyone drinks either tea or coffee at some point, but I’m not sure if the idea is personal enough. But I don’t know my clients all that well yet, so it’s going to be hard going the personal route, even though I think it’s the best way.
Has anybody used personal gift baskets as a client gift? I’m just wondering how well they went over and what you put in them. If I could get a few ideas, it might lead me in the right direction.
